The mission of Girls Set the Ground Rules is to prepare the learners for life in a diverse educational and social environment. Each child will be encouraged to become a self-motivated learner and develop qualities of order, concentration and independence.

Our Philosophy
In Girls Set the Ground Rules, the knowledge of the various stages of traditional child development including The Montessori Method are used at all grade levels. Our philosophy is an approach to education based upon the belief that schooling should work with the nature of the child instead of against it. Therefore, the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and mental developments should be based upon the understanding of the stages of age appropriate development. Your child’s formative years lay the foundation and create paths for all later learning advances.

Our Goal
Girls Set the Ground Rules has found that teaching to the individual learner instead of to a large group is more self-motivating. In many other programs, lessons are presented to the whole class and sometimes to small groups. In our program the general rule is reversed. Our teachers support hands-on learning through presentation, exploration and discovery. In this way, the teacher can address the specific needs of the child, respond to the individual child’s interests and level of understanding. The child does not have to sit through an activity which is not developmentally age appropriate at that time. This individual attention also helps the teacher become more familiar with the child progress. This method enables the learners to become independent, peer teachers and learn from helping one another. The learners have the freedom to work at their own pace thereby becoming self-motivated learners.

Our Prepared Environment
We value a thoughtful and well-prepared learning environment that is both purposeful and peaceful. A stimulating and nurturing environment should provide children with success and joy to become lifelong learners. We expect our teachers, staff, leaders and shareholders to be lifelong learners too. They will share knowledge with and learn from our students in our prepared environment.

Girls Set The Ground Rules really helped my child during the pandemic. We were unable to connect with some support services, but they not only helped us they kept us updated and engaged. This was which so beneficial, they are a breath of fresh air.
